Suena Community High School stands as a vital educational beacon on Ugi Island, proudly positioned on the picturesque north side of the island. However, this beautiful location once came with significant challenges, as the area was devoid of coverage from communication towers.
For far too long, the lack of reliable communication and internet services limited the potential of both teachers and students. They faced the arduous task of embarking on a one-hour trek through lush landscapes just to find a signal for a simple phone call. For internet access — essential for research and exploration — students and teachers had to brave a daunting three-hour boat ride to nearby Makira Island, navigating unpredictable waters and the elements.
Today, those trials are nothing but a memory. We have entered a transformative new chapter for Suena Community High School, celebrating a significant milestone in our ongoing quest for educational excellence.
Through our dynamic partnership with Kacific, we have successfully ushered in an era of affordable, fast, and dependable internet connectivity. With the generous donation of state-of-the-art satellite terminals, Suena Community High School is now empowered to embrace the digital age. Teachers, students, and the surrounding community can seamlessly access the internet directly from the school, unlocking a realm of knowledge and opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and academic growth. This newfound connectivity heralds a bright future, where learning knows no bounds.
